Monterey Pier Video with Panasonic GH2 (hacked)

When we filmed the Monterey Pier with the Sony RX100 we also used a Panasonic GH2 with hacked firmware (about 45Mbs).

Here is what we think so far:

Pro Sony RX100

  • Smaller and lighter
  • Cheaper
  • 1080p60 mode
  • Faster zoom at wide angle (28-35mm)

Pro hacked Panasonic GH2

  • Native 24p at higher bitrate
  • With 14-140mm zoom longer reach
  • We like the image quality better

What are our ambitions making these videos?

We are privileged to photograph at very beautiful places. We create videos to document these places. We always have photography our first priority and video second. The video have to be shot handheld and the gear has to be small.
