Adobe releases Photoshop CS6 Public Beta

Like with Lightroom 4 Beta Adobe is this time also posting a Public Beta for Photoshop CS6. We only cover some of the features that are the most important for our personal workflow.

General Crop (all new and redefined)

Perspective Crop

Perspective Crop is now an own tool.

Patch Tool w/ Content-Aware option

This is for us one of the highlights because in some cases Content Aware Fill cannot do what we want.

In the above workflow sequence we wanted to remove the wire.

  • We selected the wire (Polygonal Lasso Tool)
  • If we would now just use Content Aware Fill we would fill in bad content from the right.
  • Instead we used the new Patch tool in Content Aware Mode
  • The final result may need some fine tuning but worked just fine.

Content-Aware Move

This tool allow you to move objects and blend with their background,

Tool Scripted Patterns (Fill/Pattern)

You can create patterns and even control these patterns with your own scripts.

Auto-Save and Auto Recover

If you work with larger images saving the files can be a waste of your time. Now you can save your images in the background.

Camera Raw 7

Camera Raw 7 implements all the new Develop features of Lightroom 4.

Tilt-Shift Blur

You can emulate the look of Tilt-Shilt lenses.

Iris Blur

Iris Blur allows to create selective sharpness and emulates out of focus blur.

Video improved and no longer only in Photosho Extended

Adaptive Wide Angle

If you use extreme wide angle lenses you get some nasty projection distortions. This tool allows you to change the way your images show the projections.

Redesigned print dialog

Note: Photoshop CS6 only works in 64-bit on Macs.

Best you download the Photoshop CS6 Beta and experience the new features.

All our Scripts also work in Photoshop CS6.

Please download from labs.adobe.com.
